Am 25. Mai bloggte ich über das Greenpeace-Projekt Behind the Logo.
Letzten Freitag erreichte mich folgende Mail (gekürzt):

Hi Friedemann,

We're almost ready to pick a new logo for BP –
and we're going to need your help.

When our intrepid climbers shinned up the front
of BP's London headquarters to hang a 'british polluters' flag off their pole and
launch the competition,
we had no idea quite how many entries we were going to get.

Six weeks later, more than 2000 amazing entries have arrived by email or post – […]

There's been lots of interest in the competition already.
Your logos made the front page of the Adbusters website and
have been featured on lots of design blogs,
in papers and in design magazines across the world.

Closer to home (for us), the Guardian newspaper featured selections
not once but twice, as well as
running a gallery of their own favourites on their website.

We exhibited a selection of entries at the launch of their BP sponsored portrait awards
at the National Portrait Gallery in London,
and gave out t-shirts with other entries on at Glastonbury festival.

Meanwhile, our Flickr account where the logos are hosted has had over 2 million visits
since we launched the competition.

So, how are we judging it?
Well, there's been so much success that we're going to crowdsource the winner.
Our campaigners have picked a shortlist that will work as campaign logos,
and very soon we'll be launching a vote
to let you choose the one we'll use to rebrand BP.

Because we had loads of amazing entries
that weren't suitable for use as alternative logos,
we've also got a panel of designers to pick a separate selection of winning logos
on the strength of their design genius.

[…]

Was bei rauskommt, werde ich dann bloggen.
